Chicago Area Fall College Fairs
’Tis the season to try to make sense out of the heavily populated college landscape. Fortunately, there’s plenty of help out there. Here’s a list of upcoming fall 2017 college fairs in the Chicago area for you to mark on your calendar:
CHICAGO PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS COLLEGE FAIR
When: Oct. 3, 6:30–9 p.m.
Where: UIC Forum, 725 Roosevelt Road, Chicago
Meet representatives from dozens of Fine Arts schools across the nation and abroad. A special workshop session “Navigating Fine and Performing Arts Admissions” will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Learn more by clicking here.
CHICAGO NORTHSHORE MUSIC COLLEGE FAIR
When: October 5, 7–9 p.m.
Where: Northwestern University (Ryan Center for the Musical Arts), Evanston
Aspiring musicians will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from music schools throughout the country, including heavy hitters such as The Julliard School and Berklee College of Music. Click here for additional information.
CHICAGO NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR
When: October 14, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Where: McCormick Place, Chicago
Be sure to bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, as nearly every school you can think of will have a presence here. Additionally, you can sign up for workshops that cover all things college. To find out more about the fair, click here.
COLLEGE OF DuPAGE COLLEGE FAIR
When: October 17, 6–8 p.m.
Where: College of DuPage (Physical Education Center), Glen Ellyn
From Arizona State to Xavier, more than 200 schools will be onsite. The fair also will feature financial aid presentations (6:15–7:15) and an assistance center where students can ask questions about the college application process. Click here for more information.
JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE FALL COLLEGE FAIR
When: Oct. 18, 6–8 p.m.
Where: Joliet Junior College, main campus Event Center, Joliet
Families can explore more than 100 colleges and universities at the fair. The evening will feature a free seminar about understanding financial aid options at 5:30 and 7 p.m. and in Spanish at 6:30 p.m. For more information about the fair click here.
When: October 25, 6–9 p.m.
Where: Glenbrook North High School, Northbrook
This fair is aimed at college-bound students who have learning differences, disabilities or special needs. The wide-ranging agenda has multiple presentations on how students can seek support on college campuses. Dozens of schools from the Midwest and beyond will be in attendance. EXPLORE ENGINEERING NIGHT
When: November 10, 6–9:30 p.m.
Where: College of DuPage (Student Resource Center, room 2000), Glen Ellyn
If you’re thinking of pursuing a career in engineering, you’ll want to attend this gathering. High school juniors and seniors and college freshmen will learn from professionals how to effectively utilize college degrees in bioengineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
